Safe Key Scheme

Police Direct - Safe Key

Police Direct, working with Suffolk Constabulary to reduce crime and improve community safety, I would like to tell you about our new Key Recovery Service. This service forms part of our already established Suffolk SAFEKey scheme.

Every year the Constabulary is handed 1000s of lost keys that, despite our best efforts, cannot be reunited with their rightful owner. Suffolk Constabulary is well aware of the cost and concern resulting from the loss of keys.

As part of our commitment to keeping properties safe from crime, this new service is being offered to residential and business owners within the county. Providing protection and assistance should you lose your keys. It also allows the police access to your property in the event of an incident occurring whilst your property is unattended.

From as little as £1 a month Suffolk SAFEKey offers you the following benefits:

  • A Suffolk Constabulary branded key fob, with unique reference number, meaning there is a 90% likelihood that your keys will be recovered if lost when attached to a fob*
  • Cover for your keys if lost anywhere in the UK or EU.
  • £10 reward to the finder of your keys courtesy of Suffolk SAFEKey
  • Secure databases letting the police know whom to call in the event of an incident at your unattended property.
  • A window sticker to confirm your membership to officers, and more...

As a member of Suffolk SAFEKey you will be helping communities across the county through the Safer Suffolk Foundation, the Constabulary's charitable arm. Any money above that required to operate Suffolk SAFEKey is fed into the foundation, which funds community projects that are aimed at improving community safety issues, providing young people with positive activities and improving community cohesion. Download the information poster here.

To join Suffolk SAFEKey simply visit www.suffolk.safekey.org.uk or call the Suffolk SAFEKey hotline on 08444 121 802.

Suffolk Constabulary takes pride in keeping Suffolk safe. Our commitment to improving the service we offer the people in Suffolk is reflected through our partnership working that provides local policing solutions to local problems. I believe Suffolk SAFEKey will help us with this aim and I look forward to being able to welcome you as a member.
